I was born in the South East of England where I have resided for most of my adult life, although through employment, I was able to travel a great deal and see much of the world. I built a successful management career in exhibition freight logistics, was married and had two lovely children, but over a long period of active alcoholism my life gradually became evermore, and then completely, unmanageable. I eventually sought help through treatment and began the process of arresting my alcoholic condition and putting my life back together.
Having had a back ground of working in international business for the last 30 years it has been heart warming and rewarding to be able to spend time with many addicts starting out on their own journey's into recovery. I have been active in the field of addiction treatment since December 2011, assisting a team of counselors at a facility in Plettenberg Bay, South Africa. During the last eighteen months I have been studying and undertaking the practical requirements needed, with the Californian based Breining Institute, to become a Registered Addiction Specialist. I have also taken an active part in the NA and AA fellowships, holding several long standing service posts at local meetings. I am delighted to be able to continue working with addicts at this first class facility in Malaysia since 2014.
